Compass Community Health Transitions to Sage Intacct with The Affordable Subledger Archive Process
Compass Community Health is a primary care practice in Portsmouth, Ohio. After a corporate restructuring made their on-premise financial technology stack too complex and too expensive for the newly created organization, they began a transition from Microsoft Dynamics to Sage Intacct.
Legacy System Complexity Creates Inefficiencies After Corporate Restructuring
Compass’s legacy accounting system had been designed for a large organization with over 500 employees. Following the company split, CFO Eva Gitome found that many of the workflows in Microsoft Dynamics were redundant and over-complicated for the smaller team. Compass partnered with Wipfli to lead their implementation of Sage Intacct.
Eva had only five months to complete the transition, so minimizing cost and internal effort were high priorities. “We were looking for the most cost efficient and least time-consuming way to migrate our data,” she says.
ASAP Balances Speed, Cost, and Reporting Needs
Wipfli introduced Compass to Platform Transition to support their data migration needs. To preserve long-term access to their AP and AR subledger history, Platform Transition recommended the Affordable Subledger Archive Process™ (ASAP), which extracts and archives historical financial data in a Microsoft Access file.
Eva says that working with Platform Transition gave her peace of mind during a chaotic time, knowing that the data migration was being handled by accounting experts who were deeply familiar with Sage Intacct. “It was good that we both spoke the same language,” Eva says.
Compass Retains Critical Financial History While Reducing System Complexity and Cost
By transitioning from Microsoft Dynamics to Sage Intacct, Compass right-sized their accounting software for their new corporate structure, simplified cybersecurity and user access to their software by moving to the cloud, and retained all of the historical accounting context they needed.
In Sage Intacct, team members can easily drill down into individual transactions with minimal clicks to get the context they need to analyze financial trends.
Additionally, their portable Microsoft Access file with their GL, AP and AR subledgers gave them long-term access to the historical data they need without incurring the cost and complexity of a full Subledger Rebuild in Sage Intacct.
“I’m very grateful that Platform Transition exists,” Eva shares. “Otherwise I wouldn’t have had the data I needed for grant reporting and lookbacks in the critical moments that I needed it.”
